159px-burgundy_bottles_240When any event or festival has been running for more than just a few years it's a silent seal of public approval on the quality of the festival itself. So when you see that the Sandestin Wine Festival is now entering its 27th year you know that you're dealing with something special.

If you're something of an oenophile (a lover of fine wines) then you need to set aside the dates April 18th - April 21st in 2013 in order that you have time to sample the 800 wines which will be showcased during this wine festival. If you do happen to fall in love with some new wines you'll be able to purchase them from the retail tent at special festival prices.

Each day of the festival has its own particular “flavor” so there's always something new happening in terms of culinary or wine experiences, or both for that matter. The Grand Wine Tasting on Friday April 19th is one to take note of, and as the name suggests you can expect to sample from hundreds of different domestic and international wines over the space of roughly 3-hours.

There's a culinary pavilion also in operation during the festival so make sure that you pay a visit there to sample some of the incredible food on offer. You will also have the opportunity to see several chefs of note prepare their favorite dishes and also provide you with some tips for pairing the perfect meal with the perfect wine.

Paula Deen is the special guest star for the Sandestin Wine Festival in 2013, so you can enjoy some of Paula's favorite recipes at the Marlin Grill on Saturday April 20th. Tickets for this part of the festival are expected to sell out quickly so book them well in advance.

Please note that you do need to 21-years of age or older to taste the wines available during the festival.
