Raising money for the Cottages for Kids Foundation has become a regular thing for Davis Dunn Construction and Studio A Architecture's Andrea J. Plunk. They have teamed up for their seventh fundraiser. The goal is always to provide an imaginative cottage and support a good cause. The creation for this year is called Live It Up, which is an enchanting cottage found in Rosemary Beach on the East Long Green.
Each of the facades found within the Live it Up theme has a sub-theme. The goal of each sub-theme is to encourage kids to do something, such as:
- Serve it Up - A take-out window made to stimulate the culinary imagination of children.
- Climb it Up - A climbing wall with a bell at the top.
- Ham it Up - A stage with curtains for performances.
The overall theme helps to teach these kids some of the most important lessons in live through play and fun. Kids learn to serve others, have a sense of humor and stay active through these sub-themes, which are all important parts of everyday life.
This year is a bit more unique, as well because the partnership has also added a co-host called CUP, Food You Pick Up. This restaurant has teamed up with the event because the owner has a heart for children and recognized this as a great opportunity to help support a children's charity. They will provide samples and give a portion of the proceeds they offer to Compassion Cup.
With these two partners teaming up with a co-host, this event is only getting better. It was originally started by Davis Dunn Construction and brought to live with the help of the designs from Andrea J. Plunk.
The event will be held in Rosemary Beach and will be open on weekends through November. Kids and families can tour the cottages free of charge with donations for CVHN accepted. Raffle tickets will also be sold at the event. For more information visit, www.CottagesforKids.org.
