The Flutterby Festival is an annual event found in the panhandle of Florida and this year it will be held at Rosemary Beach on November 9th and 10th. This is a special event for the area with plenty of fun activities for the entire family to enjoy.
This festival celebrates nature, art and the Monarch Butterfly throughout the community. It's a family-friendly event with plenty of great entertainment from the local area. The festival believes Rosemary Beach is a great setting, as the community loves the event here.
Butterflies and Children
A huge part of the festival gives children the opportunity to create their own butterfly wings and wear them in the costume parade. This parade happens both days at 3pm. Children can also enjoy creating butterfly puppets and many other crafts.
Along with the activities for the kids, plenty of student artwork will be on display throughout the festival including paintings and so much more created by students in Walton County.
The youth of the community is very much involved in this event and Master gardener Snookie Parrish will help teach children about building a butterfly garden. Your kids can enjoy creating a pot with a plant, which will grow a butterfly bush. This is just one of the many activities and street games, hula hooping, mural painting, face painting and so much more will be provided for kids throughout the festival.
The 30A Dancewave will be part of the entertainment with performances created to celebrate nature and butterflies. The 30A Ballet will also be a part of the entertainment, along with plenty of music from Ohana Records Bands and Mike Whitty. The Seaside Repertory Theatre will also be a part of the festival.
You can get into the festival free of charge and some of the activities will only require a small fee. All proceeds go to benefit the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County. For full information visit the website at, CulturalArtsAlliance.com.
