If you enjoy white sandy beaches with pristine turquoise colored water, a day trip to Henderson Beach State Park should be added to your "to-do" list. This is an all-natural park with scrub oaks, dune rosemary and sand pines throughout. The boardwalks provides access for fishing, sunbathing and swimming.
With six pavilions throughout, families can enjoy picnicking, grilling or just a little time out of the sun, when necessary. Spend time at the playground, enjoy the nature trails or just relax on the beach. Taking a walk through the nature trails will provide a look at the dune ecosystem and plenty of wildlife. The trails are pet friendly, as well.
If you really want to get the most out of your trip to Henderson Beach State Park, make it a weekend trip and camp at one of the 60 campsites. Each site includes both electric and water hookups, along with air-conditioned bathhouses close by. The campgrounds also provide a separate boardwalk for accessing the beach, complete with a playground and outdoor showers.
Some of the activities residents enjoy at the park include:
- Time with Pets
- Hiking trails
- Campfire circles
- Wildlife viewing
- And more!
The park is open all year from 8am until sundown. Admission is $6 per vehicle (up to 8 people) and $4 for a single occupant vehicle. Pedestrians, extra passengers and bicyclists pay a $2 admission rate. Annual passes are also available for residents, which provide unlimited admission throughout the year.
The campsite rate is $30 per night, which includes water and electric. Pavilions can also be rented for $100 per day and they seat up to 100 people. However, pavilions are not available for daily rental during summer months due to limited picnic space.
