598449_1_242Relocating to or finding a second home in the Destin area can provide many benefits. Of course, this type of move requires a little research into the neighborhoods of the area. Here are some of the things you should consider before choosing the location of your new home.

The neighborhoods throughout the area are all very different. Some areas provide more privacy, while others provide more activities. Many of the neighborhoods are commercialized with restaurants and shops, but others are found with very little commercialization. The character of the different communities is determined by the areas; include Choctawachee Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Neighborhoods close to the Choctawachee Bay tend to provide more bay front property options. This area is mainly found north of Highway 98. This is an interesting area with some of the most desirable neighborhoods including Kelly Plantation, Regatta Bay, Indian Bayou and Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort.

If you're looking for an area with plenty of fishing boats, great views of the bay, excellent golf courses and a close location to some of the best shopping in Destin, a neighborhoods near the Choctawachee Bay provides just what you're after.

Another choice is one of the neighborhoods near the Gulf of Mexico. These neighborhoods provide an interesting mix of great fishing, excellent beaches and tropical buildings. It starts with the East Pass area, which is the link between the gulf and the bay, and continues to Holiday Isle, which is the place for boaters and adventure.

Henderson Beach State Park is found in this area, as well and many beautiful Victorian style cottages provide a great view of the gulf. This is not as dense of an area and provides a great place for someone seeking a bit more privacy with plenty of activities and natural beauty.
